3 Assuli labels, Fiordiligi 2020, Furioso 2018, Donna Angelica 2019 received 91, 90 and 90 points from James Suckling, one of the most well-established American critics on the international wine scene.
FIORDILIGI 2020 – 100% GRILLO – DOC SICILIA A fresh and juicy grillo with the kind of lemon and herbal freshness that makes this grape so interesting. Only the touch of tannin makes this qualify as medium-bodied, otherwise the impression is of lightness and crispness. Moderate acidity, but good length. From organically grown grapes.
FURIOSO 2018 – 100% PERRICONE – DOC SICILIA
Slightly smoky, licoricy feel to the ripe plums and berries here. Full-bodied with intense fruit and firm, velvety tannins that are coated with citrus and light spice. Savory finish. Slightly dry at the end.
DONNA ANGELICA 2019 – 100% LUCIDO – DOC SICILIA
A bold and crisp Sicilian dry white with plenty of candied citrus and pineapple. Not complex, but has a good structure and is well balanced, a touch of positive tannin underlining the long finish. From organically grown grapes.
